Invisalign®– Fort Worth, TX
Straighten Your Smile and Boost Your Confidence
You might think of your dental misalignments as more of an aesthetic concern than an actual oral problem, but the truth is that crooked, gapped, or overlapping teeth can be harder to maintain, which increases the risk of developing decay, disease, or other damage.
Our Fort Worth team is happy to help straighten your smile and boost your confidence with Invisalign. Continue reading to learn more about this popular service and who it might benefit!
Why Choose iSmile Dental for Invisalign®?
- Digital Impressions for Enhanced Accuracy
- Team of Providers with Decades of Experience
- Custom-Fitted, Transparent Trays
How Invisalign® Works
Unlike traditional braces, which use metal brackets and wires cemented to your teeth to shift them, Invisalign uses clear plastic trays to reposition your grin. These custom-fitted aligners fit snugly over your arches to exert gentle but consistent pressure to move your teeth to their ideal places.
Patients are usually directed to wear their trays for 20 to 22 hours daily to prevent anything from reverting to its starting position, which can potentially add additional weeks to your treatment timeline. Then, after about a week or two, you’ll be instructed to switch to the next pair of aligners in your series to account for the ongoing movement of your smile. Many patients complete this service in 12 to 18+ months.
Who Invisalign® Can Help
This solution continues to gain popularity as a more comfortable way to straighten smiles, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best way to meet everyone’s unique needs. Before proceeding, you must consult one of our providers to determine whether you’re a good candidate.
For example, if we find signs of gum disease, we will need to treat your connective tissues before moving forward with your elective service. We might also recommend a different solution, such as FASTBRACES®, to address more severe misalignments.
If our team determines that Invisalign is right for you, it can be used to improve a variety of issues, which are outlined in more detail below.
Crowded Teeth
Overlapping or overcrowded teeth are more likely to develop disease or decay because it’s harder to access all the surfaces of your enamel to brush and floss them twice daily. Thankfully, these transparent trays can be used to move them into their ideal places to improve the health, function, and appearance of your smile.
Gaps Between Teeth
Wider spaces in your grin can trap food or other debris, which attracts harmful, disease-causing bacteria. They also leave sections of connective tissue exposed, increasing the risk of sustaining injuries or other damage. Invisalign can often effectively pull your teeth closer together to reduce the spaces between them.
Bite Alignment
If your upper and lower teeth don’t come together as they should when you close your mouth, you might wear down your enamel unevenly or develop TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders. In many cases, these clear trays can help correct your jaw’s position to improve your oral health and prevent potential problems, though they may require accessories such as buttons, attachments, or elastic bands to do so.
The Benefits of Invisalign®
Invisalign continues to gain popularity among teens and adults partly due to its many benefits, which include:
- Faster treatment option. Many people complete this service between 12 and 18+ months, compared to the 24+ months often required for traditional orthodontics.
- Smooth material. The plastic trays are unlikely to cut or gouge the insides of your cheeks, lips, and gums, as metal brackets and wires tend to do.
- ‘Invisible’ solution. The transparent material allows your enamel to show through to help boost your confidence in your appearance.
- Non-invasive solution. Your aligners are completely removable, so there are no dietary restrictions, and it’s easier to maintain your twice-daily at-home dental hygiene routine.
- Easy follow-up appointments. You’ll be expected to attend routine check-ins periodically, but these can be as brief as 15 to 30 minutes.
How Much Does Invisalign®Cost?
It’s natural to wonder how much your treatment might cost, but the pricing can vary significantly based on your unique circumstances, the severity of your misalignments, the anticipated length of your treatment, and whether you comply with wear-time guidelines.
Our practice is in-network with most major dental PPO plans and we also gladly accept Medicaid. But there’s no guarantee that Invisalign will be included. If you’re concerned about affording services, you can apply for a flexible payment plan through Cherry. This allows you to divide your total invoice into more manageable installments over a designated period.
